I、you、he、she、it、we、they
宾格 me、you、him、her、it、us、them
I gave him an apple.
物主代词 形容词性 my、your、his、her、its、our、their
名词性 mine、yours、his、hers、ours、theirs
mine 本义“我的”,后面有名词时缩成 my;yours、hers 是在 your、her 后面又加了表示“……的”的 s This is my apple. That one is yours.
We picked the apples ourselves.
指示代词 this、that、these、those this 本义“眼前的、手边的”,that 指“离得远一点的” These apples are sweet.
不定代词 some、any、each、every、both、all、either、neither、none、other、another 各自的本义见后面各小节 Both apples are red.
疑问代词 who、whom、whose、what、which 都来自同一个表示“谁、什么”的疑问词根 Who ate my apple?

本义依据:etymonline: pronoun、mine、self、this、who。

I me my mine myself
你 you you your yours yourself
他 he him his his himself
她 she her her hers herself
它 it it its 一般不单独用 itself
我们 we us our ours ourselves
你们 you you your yours yourselves
他们 they them their theirs themselves

my 和 mine。

yours、hers、ours、theirs。 注意:不写 her's、your's。

its。 its 是 it 加上所有格的 s。它最初就写作 it's,后来撇号去掉了,可能是因为 it's 已经是 it is 的缩写。所以今天 its 是“它的”,it's 是 it is。

  • She picked an apple and gave it to me.
  • My apple is red, and hers is green.
  • The apple tree has lost its leaves.
  • Help yourself to some apples.
  • The children made apple pies by themselves.

2024 年河南卷语篇填空第 59 题:he found   59   coins were gone,空后是名词 coins,填 his。另外,its 是“它的”,it's 是 it is 的缩写,不能混用。

本义依据:etymonline: mine、my、's、yours、its、it、self、by、a。

these 和 those 原来都是 this 的复数形式,后来 these 留给 this,those 改作 that 的复数。

近 This apple is red. These apples are red.
远 That apple is green. Those apples are green.

Hello, is that Tom? This is Lucy.

中考易错点: these、those 本身是复数,后面跟复数名词,谓语也用复数:These apples are sweet,不说 These apple is sweet。

本义依据:etymonline: this、that、these、those。

This, that, these, those;Oxford Learner's: this、that。

who、whom、whose、what、which

who “什么人” 谁,作主语或宾语 Who ate my apple?
whom who 的宾格形状,和 him、them 一样带 m 谁,作宾语,比较正式 To whom did you give the apple?
whose who 的所有格形状 谁的 Whose apple is this?
What is in the basket?
which wh-(和 what 同源,“什么”)+ 一个表示“…… Which apple do you want, the red one or the green one?

本义依据:etymonline: who、whom、whose、what、which;Wiktionary: which。

用法依据:剑桥英汉词典:whose;Oxford Learner's: who、whose、whom、which、what。

不定代词:some 与 any#

There are some apples in the basket.
There are some apples in the basket.
There aren't any apples in the fridge.
Is there any apple juice left?
Would you like some apples?
Take any apple you like.

中考易错点: 请别人吃东西时,虽然是问句,也用 some:Would you like some apples?

本义依据:etymonline: some、any。

Some and any;Oxford Learner's: some、any。

  • each 既是限定词,也是代词,能单独用,也能加 of;every 只是限定词,后面必须跟名词,所以要说 every one of,不说 every of。
each every
They got an apple each.
Each of the two boys got an apple. 不能说 every of,要说 every one of:Every one of the apples is red.
Almost every apple in the box is red.

中考易错点: 只有两个时用 each,不用 every:She has an apple in each hand.

本义依据:etymonline: each、every。

Each or every;Oxford Learner's: each、every、almost。

不定代词:both、all、either、neither、none#

both “这两个、一个和另一个” 两个都 Both apples are sweet.
We both like apples.
You can take either apple.
There are apple trees on either side of the road.
All the apples in the basket are red.
Tom had three apples, and I had none.

  • They both like apples.
  • The apples are both ripe.

Neither of the apples is ripe(两个苹果都没熟),不说 Both of the apples aren't ripe。

本义依据:etymonline: both、either、neither、all、none。

Both、All、Either、Neither、No, none and none of;Oxford Learner's: both、either、neither、all、none。

不定代词:other 与 another#

  • another 里面有 an,an 是“一”,所以 another 后面接单数名词。
This apple is bad. Can I have another one?
I'd like another two apples.
I have two apples. One is red, and the other is green.
I ate one apple and gave the others to my friends.
Some apples are sweet; others are sour.
Do you have any other apples?

中考易错点: other 放在名词前面时,和 red、sweet 这类形容词一样修饰名词,而英语的形容词没有复数形式,所以说 the other apples,不说 the others apples。 另外,another 要连写,不写 an other。

本义依据:etymonline: other、another、an、the。

Other, others, the other or another;Oxford Learner's: other、another。

it 的用法#

I bought an apple and ate it on the way home.
It's raining, so we can't pick apples today.
It's two kilometres to the apple farm.
形式主语:It is + 形容词 + to do 真正的主语 to pick apples 太长,挪到后面 It's fun to pick apples.
形式宾语:find it + 形容词 + to do 真正的宾语 to reach the apples 太长,挪到后面 I find it hard to reach the apples at the top of the tree.
It takes + 人 + 时间 + to do take 有“需要、花费(时间)”的意思;“做这件事”太长,挪到后面,it 先占位 It took us two hours to pick all the apples.
It is/was ... who/that ...(高中内容) 这种句子用来强调句子的某一部分 It was Tom who ate the apple.

It's important to wash apples(洗苹果很重要),不说 Is important to wash apples。

It、Dummy subjects;Oxford Learner's: it、take。

I can't find my apple. Where did I put it?
I want an apple. Can you give me one?
one 与 some one 本义“一个”,只能代替能论“个”的可数名词;不可数名词用 some Have you got any apple juice? Can I have some?
its 与 it's its 是 it 加所有格的 s,意思是“它的”;it's 是 it is 的缩写 The tree dropped its apples. It's windy today.
This is my apple. This apple is mine.
the other 与 another the other 是“两个中确定的另一个”;another 是“一个”加“别的”,不特指 I have two apples. You can have the other one.
Have another apple.

本义依据:etymonline: it、one、's、mine、other、another。

用法依据:剑桥英汉词典:one、another;剑桥语法:One、Pronouns: possessive;Oxford Learner's: one。
